Amazon Alexa Accessibility Box

I had to step away from my career to act as a carer for my grandmother after she developed dementia, in addition to this after a stroke left her with what is known as transcortical motor aphasia, she was left unable to speak, and unable to use the Alexa device she had previously relied on to play the radio stations she enjoyed listening to. To solve this problem, I designed a box that contained a PCB hooked up to a Raspberry Pi, running a python service I wrote to connect to the Alexa API. This enabled her to replace verbal commands with a simple button press.
